Alvis D. “Hook” White, Sr.

Alvis D. “Hook” White, Sr., 75, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Monday, January 8, 2018, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Services will be in Battle Creek, Michigan, at a later date.  Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Mr. White was born November 1, 1942, in Cairo, Illinois, the son of Alfred and Camilla White.  He worked in accounting for the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek Michigan for many years.

Hook is survived by two children, Alvis D. “Donnie” White, Jr. of Lancaster, California, and Kim Burkett of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren; his girlfriend, Violet Massey of Rock Island; and siblings.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
