Barbara A. Orme

Barbara A. Orme, 90, of Silvis, Illinois, died Sunday, August 29, 2021, at home.

Private burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

The former Barbara Ann Herbig was born September 14, 1930, in Aurora, Nebraska, the daughter of Roelyn and Dora (Heibert) Herbig. She married Robert E. Rote, Jr., with whom she had two sons before separating. She later married Ronald Orme, who passed away August 30, 1990.

Barb worked for the Illini Hospital Auxiliary for over 20 years during which time she made many close friends. She loved needlepoint and ceramics.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Linda Rote of Moline; two step-daughters, Michelle (Terry) Dye of Carbon Cliff, Illinois, and Wendy (Kevin) Liebl; two grandchildren, Stacia Robison of Moline, and Joshua Rote of Moline; and a step-granddaughter, Karen (Bob) Mital of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Richard E. Rote; and a sister, Ila Herbig.
