Frank L. Frye, 70, of Davenport, Iowa, died Friday, January 5, 2018, in his residence.
There will be no public services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
Frank was born May 8, 1947, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Hugh “LeRoy” and Imogene (Stoneking) Frye. He married Ella Jones on April 23, 1965, and they were married for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for John Deere Plow and Planter Works, retiring in 1987.
He enjoyed music of all kinds, but “old country” and Hank Williams were his favorites. He played guitar, sang and wrote music. Above all else, he loved having a good time with family and friends, in particular his longtime friend, Leonard, from West Chester, Iowa.
Frank is survived by three children, Kim (Mike) Zierath of Flower Mound, Texas, Deanna DeBord of Champaign, Illinois, and Stephani (Dean) DeBord of Davenport; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Maxine (Charlie) Cruse of Moline, Mary Frye of Milan, and Deb Johnson of Rock Island; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Edward Frye.
