JoAnn Olver, 70, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Aspen Rehab & Health Care, Silvis, Illinois.
Services to celebrate JoAnn’s life will be Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Grace Bible Fellowship, Moline, beginning with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Donnie Plemons will officiate. The celebration will continue with a hospitality gathering until 5:00 p.m. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to her son, Steve Carlin, Jr., for a fund to be established.
JoAnn was born September 23, 1947, in Moline, and raised by her parents, Marjorie and Robert Buller. She married Steve Carlin, with whom she had her son. She later married Robert Olver in 1971. He passed away in 2010.
She was a clerk and cook for several Coal Valley businesses, including Jack & Jill, Fleetwood Bar, Crabby’s Bar, and Dollar General. She enjoyed fishing, bingo and golfing.
JoAnn is survived by her son, Steve Carlin, Jr., and his girlfriend, Gabby Green, of Bettendorf; her father, Robert Buller of Silvis; step-children, Tim, Debbie, and Sheila Olver; grandchildren, Jonathan Elliott, and Avalon, Delanna and Elijah Carlin; step-grandchildren, Nhea and Isaiah Green; great-grandchildren, Peytin Carlin, Tucker and Brynlee Bennett, and Rylan Dobbs; siblings, Sandy Dodds of East Moline, Bob and Vickey Buller of Silvis, and Tim and Mike Buller, both of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; husband; and step-sons, Bobby and Allen Olver.
