John W. Hoover

John W. “Sonny” Hoover, 79, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

John William Hoover was born June 14, 1941, in Davenport, the son of Henry and Nora (McMurren) Hoover. He served in the U.S. Army and worked in construction for most of his career. He owned and operated C & J Construction and worked for Kelly Construction.

Sonny is survived by a son and his fiancé, Christopher (Alyssa Brown) McCleary of Davenport; grandchildren, etc.; and a sister, Pat Niebuhr. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Bloomer-Bealer; and two sisters, Joan Wallace and Myrtle Nelson.
