Mary F. Race

Mary F. Race, 91, of Carbon Cliff, Illinois, died Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, Illinois.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

The former Mary Francis Byrd was born July 22, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Edna (Knappenberger) Byrd. She married Ronald Kuelper, with whom she had a son before separating.

Mary worked as a nurse’s aid at Oakland Nursing Home. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears’ fan.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Kuelper, Jr. of Orion, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Kuelper of Michigan; grandchildren, JoiMarie Paudel, Tiffany Michelle Kuelper, Timothy Michael Kuelper, Louis DeShane, Crystal Snyder, Kimberly Vogel, and Levi Kuelper; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Kevin and Neal Allen Kuelper; brothers, Richard, Dean, Jack and Larry Byrd.
