Marylyn R. Hagemann, 101, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 29, 2024, at her daughter’s home.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Graveside services will take place at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to UnityPoint Hospice.
The former Marylyn Reta Thomas was born March 1, 1923, to Clifford and Loretta (Walker) Thomas, in Highland Park, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Donald Hagemann, on January 17, 1946, at the Naval Base Port Hueneme, in California. In 1977 they retired to Port Charlotte, Florida and enjoyed living there for nearly 23 years. On August 31, 2003, after 56 years of marriage, Donald passed away.
Marylyn enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy, hand quilting many beautiful quilts, playing dominos with her special “dominos ladies”, and loved reading (was always reading two to three books a week). She was also an excellent seamstress, but above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family and loved them all dearly.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Travis) Schneden and Trisha (Roger) Yates; her grandchildren, Doria (Bob) Schneider and Amy (Josh) Ford; and her great-grandchildren, Molly, Aubrey, and Amelia. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Hagemann; her parents, Clifford and Loretta Thomas; and her sisters, Anna and Janette.
