Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Michael Vincent Klinker was born February 13, 1955, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Michael V. and Frances (Roehrig) Klinkner. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1973, and went on to marry the love of his life, Martha Wright, on March 6, 1982, in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Mike worked 43 years for John Deere, first at the Parts Distribution Center in Milan, and later at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, retiring on January 4, 2020.

Faith and family were the cornerstones of Mike’s life. He was an active member of Christ Apostolic Church, Davenport, serving in many capacities. He was a Deacon, served on the Board of Trustees and Church Treasurer, assisted with audio/visual, served as Youth Director, and even helped build, fix and wire things at the church. He also served in the church in a regional capacity, serving as Tri-State Council Treasurer, where he also served as head of Tape Ministry. He was also treasurer for the Illinois Regional Council and Assistant Treasurer for the Wisconsin State District Council.

Mike was also known for his ability to “fix” things. He build bookshelves and other small items, and even made his own desk. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Mike, especially his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 43 years, Martha; three daughters, Dawn Klinkner of Davenport, Falyne Klinkner of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Sarah Klinkner of Davenport; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Sharon Gari, Robert (Sandy) Whiten, Richard Leppert, Sandy Klinkner; step-brothers, Michael Hammer and John Luther Hammer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Frances and Ed Hammer; and his father, Michael Klinkner.
