Rodney L. "Rod" Binegar

Rodney “Rod” Lee Binegar, 71, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home accompanied by his daughter and son-in-law on Saturday , November 5, 2022.

Rod was born in Tuscola, Illinois on June 7, 1951, to Charles and Norma Binegar. He graduated from Arthur High School in 1969. Rod was united in marriage to Patricia Lawson on March 7, 1975. The couple resided in DeWitt. Rod retired from Lyondell Basell in 2006 after 37 years.

Rod was an avid baseball fan, his favorite team was the St. Louis Cardinals. He welcomed many cats over the years and raised tropical fish for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and shared his vegetables with many. Rod was loved by many and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.

Surviving are his loving wife, Patty; daughter Shannon (Steve) Foster of Clinton; sister-in-law Lynn (David) Binegar of Bettendorf; brother-in-law Brad Lawson of Arthur, IL; nephew Jordan Lawson and nieces Lisa Binegar, Erika Binegar, and Kelsey Binegar.
