Russell G. Sevedge, 67, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at home.
A visitation will be held on January 6th from 11am -12pm at Memorial Christian Church, 1624 Avenue of the Cities in Moline. Celebration of Life will be observed from 12pm – 1pm. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
Russell Glenn Sevedge was born December 18, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Forrest and Francis (Baber) Sevedge.
Following his service in the US Army, Russ had a successful career in sales at Sysco Foods, Campbell's Foods and Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution. At the end of his career, Russ was more entrepreneurial focused, and was involved with several ventures ranging from water softener sales and service, to home renovation / rental management.
In his spare time Russ enjoyed spending time with family, playing games such as Risk and RummiKube, or going to take in a professional, local, or little league baseball game. He spent many years raising Dalmatian show dogs and taking them all over the Midwest to regional dog shows. Russ was active in the church and community. He participated in sports for the church such as bowling and slow pitch softball. He was the kind of guy that everyone knew they could go to if they ever needed anything. Sometimes to his own detriment, Russ was always looking for ways to help people, and make the world a better place.
Russell is survived by five children, Phillip Sevedge of Ankeny, Iowa, Jennifer Sevedge of Des Moines, Jonathon Pogge-Weaver of Johnston, Iowa, Scott Sevedge of Ankeny, and Alex Sevedge of Elkhardt, Iowa; and 8 grandchildren, He was preceded in death by his parents Francis Sevedge and Forest Sevedge.
